Abstract
Higher education needs a data-driven, comprehensive approach to understanding the quality and value of a college education. Institutions need hard evidence and measurable results that accurately assess the effectiveness of postsecondary teaching and learning with regard to program performance. This report from ETS's Higher Education Division gives a frontline view into the growing challenge of accountability in higher education and the value of standardized assessments.
