Abstract
Latent structure analysis, as recently proposed by Lazarsfeld, is a mathematical model for describing the interrelationships of dichotomous items in a test or attitude questionnaire. There are actually two latent structure models which depend on different assumptions about the hypothesized latent variables. This study is confined to the latent class model.
