The further validation of the 20 tests given in 1948 against the criterion of quality-point ratios for two terms of the second year of graduate work has been completed. Six tests previously found to have high validities for predicting first-year grades were found to be significantly related to second-year academic performance, but observed validities were consistently and appreciably lower than those for the first year. Drop-out, lower second-year criterion reliability, and differences in the curricula were considered as causes for the lowering of the validities. Nine new and revised tests have been prepared and shipped to the Postgraduate School for administration on August 8-10. Brief descriptions of the tests are provided in the report.
