The trip was to discuss corrections and substitutions requested of ETS by the Academic Board, but the only discussion developed over the Science Aptitude section and was easily met. Criticisms voiced at the end regarding validity and coachability of the non-verbal tests were resolved by 1) substituting a "sufficiency of data" math test or other appropriate aptitude test for the 30- minutes of non-verbal reasoning in the 1951 test; and 2) proposing that a validity study of the non-verbal reasoning tests be included in a larger ETS study of predictive validity of aptitude and achievement tests.
