Abstract

The Educational Testing Service has already developed tests of a number of aptitudes other than those now tested by CEEB examinations and is planning to pretest them at the Military Academy during the summer. It is proposed that the College Board investigate the possibilities of making use of some of these tests for prediction of college success. Two approaches that would supplement each other could be made to this investigation. (1) It would be a relatively inexpensive study to administer a selected group of already developed tests in the experimental section of the SAT and to validate them against college course grades and average grades. (2) A factor analysis of the tests to be tried out at the Military Academy would be of importance in determining the relations between the new tests and the old.
