Abstract

The research reported in this paper represents one part of a broader study concerned generally with the development of personality tests for use in the selection and training of Naval Officer candidates. More specifically, our purpose was to attempt to develop personality measures which would differentiate those midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, who were judged to have high Naval leadership potential from those who were considered to have little potential as Naval officers. The present paper is concerned with one of several experimental tests which were developed either by the author or by John French in the larger research project.
