Abstract

This paper was presented to the Princeton University Conference Preference Analysis and Subject Measurements in May 1960. Systematic knowledge of the preferences and values characteristic of individuals within groups and populations is highly important to many endeavors, both in social science and in business. A multidimensional model is described that is capable of being scientifically parsimonious while describing a variety of individual preferences.
