Abstract
The SAT-V scale remained highly stable from 1953 to 1963. A candidate tested in 1963 and scoring about 500 might be equal in ability to a 1948 candidate scoring 465-480. It may be inferred that a shift occurred between 1948 and 1953. Methodological limitations preclude conclusions regarding comparisons between the early 1940's and the 1960's.
