Abstract

This review focuses on a selected set of general issues of research strategy arising in developmental research, starting not from a specific theory about development, but from a particular, possibly idiosyncratic, point of view about the nature of the age variable and the major paradigms of research which make up the developmental enterprise. It does not duplicate or supplement coverage of general problems of methodology and technique in child-psychological or aging research already available.
