Abstract
Although no simple explanation for the performance discrepancy was found, it was possible to identify some factors that were related to sex differences in test performance. Some of the findings related to performance differences in physics failed to support the explanations given in prior research. Replications of this kind of study on other forms of this test and further investigation into test-taking behavior, and factors that "influence and enhance science participation," are urged.
