Abstract

Personality, as it is usually considered, includes motivation, temperament, affect, cognition, and intellect. Intellective abilities are personality traits; cognitive processes are part of personality dynamics. The concept of style, especially cognitive style, is a recurrent theme in the exploration of personality influences on cognition. An outline highlighting the varieties of personality influence on intellect and cognition is attempted and the role of stylistic consistencies as manifestations of personality in behavior is explored.
