Abstract

This Policy Information Report describes the extent of worker training in the U.S. and the literacy levels of job seekers. It also describes the major policy options available for increasing this investment in light of conclusions of major study commissions that the current level is inadequate to enable the United States to raise productivity and improve its competitive position in world markets.
