Abstract

This Policy Information Report uses data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in mathematics to examine the growth in mathematics achievement between the fourth and eighth grades, over time. Trends in the "value-added" between these grades are compared for different groups of students and for participating states.
