Abstract

This second edition of Trends and Profiles presents statistics from the files of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) from 1982 through 1996. In the question-and-answer format with many tables and graphs, the report addresses frequently asked questions about the U.S. Citizen who take the GRE. It covers demographics, undergraduate studies, GRE test preparation, test scores, and graduate school plans. Statistical profiles for 1996 and trends from 1982 to 1996 are presented by gender, ethnic group, and age group.
