Abstract

In this essay, three interlocking key areas associated with effectively and accurately conveying information to school performance to the public are discussed: 1. graphical display of 2. non randomly gathered data, that usually require 3. statistical adjustment. This essay is illustrated with historical examples provide an evocative argument. NAEP and college admission's test data computer as educational indicators, and the efficacy of statistical standardization is discussed and illustrated.
