Abstract
This supplement to Trends and Profiles presents statistics on international students from the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) files from 1982 through 1996. In question-and-answer format with many tables and graphs, the report addresses frequently asked questions about the noncitizens who take the GRE General Test. It covers demographics, undergraduate studies, graduate school plans, and GRE preparation and test scores. Statistical profiles for 1996 and trends from 1982 to 1996 are presented by gender and age group, and comparisons are made for U.S. citizens.
