Abstract

In today’s competitive global market, effectively communicating with colleagues, customers and partners around the world is often a necessity. Having an English-proficient workforce is increasingly viewed as a business imperative for international success. With this in mind, the creators of the TOEIC Program partnered with Ipsos Public Affairs to conduct a global survey of multinational companies around the world to assess their perspective on business challenges to global expansion. ETS and Ipsos Public Affairs surveyed 749 HR leaders of large, multinational companies in 13 countries: Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, and Russia.
