Abstract
In the 2021 Tomás Rivera lecture, John B. King Jr., President and CEO of The Education Trust and the 10th U.S. Secretary of Education in the Obama administration, addressed the challenges we have faced this past year as result of the COVID-19 pandemic. He brought attention to the health and economic crises that have disproportionately impacted low-income communities and Communities of Color. Yet, he also empowered us to find solutions to the education issues we continue to see.
