Electronic Data System Update Required for TOEFL® Score Users

As part of the latest upgrade to TOEFL® score-reporting systems, all institutions that accept all TOEFL score data electronically must update their data layouts before August 23, 2021. Doing so will ensure that institutions will continue to receive scores without interruption for both the TOEFL iBT® test and the new TOEFL® Essentials test, which will have its first administration on August 21, 2021.

Each institution's IT or enrollment analytics group should reference the Guide for the TOEFL Score Reporting Record Layout and two sample files for the updated layout.

Note: Users of the Online Score Verification System (OSVS) do not have to perform this (or any) update to verify TOEFL iBT scores or TOEFL Essentials scores.

For questions about the data layout, please contact Code Control at institutionportal@ets.org.
