The TOEFL® Young Students Series GO English! Project by ETS® is designed to inspire students and engage them in practicing English. In September 2018, we invited students, along with their teachers, to take part in a four-week project.
Narrator: ETS® asked students to communicate, in English, what they would do to help make the world a better place.
Students: Make the world a better place!
Narrator: Their responses and work were truly inspiring.
Student: The word empathize means to put oneself in another’s shoes.
Student: And we think it’s the key to get rid of the racism.
Narrator: Students were excited to tell and show us how they would make the world a better place, whether through a simple act of kindness…
On-screen: [The Circle of Kindness.]
Student: Excuse me. You dropped your wallet.
Student: Oh, thank you.
Narrator: …helping others…
Students: Helping others can make the world a better place.
Narrator: …or the environment…
Students: Save paper, save the trees, save the world!
Narrator: …all while practicing their English-language skills.
Student: Reduce the negative impact on the world. Remember to recycle, reduce and reuse.
Narrator: The project encouraged students to work together and use their creativity to produce a video, poster, radio, or newspaper announcement.
Narrator: The projects submitted were truly amazing and we thank teachers and students for letting us be a part of their English language journey.
