Office of Special Education Programs Technical Assistance and Dissemination (TA&D) Centers

Assessment

National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO)

Provides national leadership in the participation of students with disabilities in national and state assessments, standards-setting efforts and graduation requirements.

National Center on Student Progress Monitoring (NCSPM)

Provides technical assistance to states and districts and disseminates information about progress-monitoring practices proven to work in different academic content areas (K–5).

Instruction

ACCESS Center: Improving Outcomes for all Students K–8

Provides technical assistance to strengthen state and local capacity to help students with disabilities effectively learn in the general education curriculum.

Reading Rockets

Provides information and resources on early reading.

Teacher Quality

Center for Teaching Quality (CTQ)

The Center for Teaching Quality seeks to improve student learning and advance the teaching profession by cultivating teacher leadership, conducting timely research and crafting smart policy — all in an effort to ensure that every student in America has a qualified, well-supported and effective teacher.

Center on Personnel Studies in Special Education (COPSSE)

A research center devoted to studying issues affecting teacher quality in special education.

IRIS Center

A dissemination center that provides evidence-based teaching modules to college faculty working in pre-service preparation programs in an effort to ensure that general education teachers, school administrators, school nurses and school counselors are well prepared to work with students who have disabilities and with their families.

National Center for Special Education Personnel and Related Service Providers - The Personnel Center

A technical assistance center that builds state capacity to recruit, prepare and retain highly qualified, diverse personnel for early intervention and special education programs.

High School

National Center on Secondary Education and Transition (NCSET)

Provides support to states in program improvement and secondary transition.

National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC)

Provides technical assistance and disseminates information to State Education Agencies, Local Education Authorities, schools and other stakeholders.

National Post-School Outcomes Center (NPSO)

Provides support to states in their efforts to collect data on indicators of school and post-school performance.

HEATH Resource Center

A national clearinghouse on postsecondary education for youth with disabilities.

Teacher Quality Plans

Each state has posted its plans for assessing the need for highly qualified teachers and ensuring that all students are taught by highly qualified teachers.

Title 1 Monitoring Reports

Provides information on how the U.S. Department of Education monitors use of federal funds for public schools and how Student Achievement and School Accountability monitors use of funds by state and local educational agencies.

National Parent Technical Assistance Center (NPTAC)

Assists and coordinates Parent Training and Information Projects and Community Parent Resource Centers under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Gives schools capacity-building information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting and sustaining effective schoolwide disciplinary practice.
