Abstract

In this memorandum are presented, in summary form, data discussed at greater length in Research Bulletins 48-5, 49-5, 50-1, 50-42, and 50-52, and Research Memoranda 50-24 and 50-34. A forthcoming Research Bulletin will give further data for the 1950 tests. Following a list of some specifications of the recommended test (as set forth in the proposal accepted by the Postgraduate School and BuPers), several alternative proposals of test batteries are made. In each case estimates of time required, standard deviations of parts, and probable validities are provided. (The pooled matrices and the formula for correlation of a sum with another variable were used to derive these latter values.)
