Abstract

Component analyses of variance were made of spring and fall scores of thirteen schools on four subtests of the School and College Ability Tests, administered to tenth and eleventh grades in the spring, and to eleventh and twelfth grades in the fall. The interaction mean square furnished estimates of the variance of the amount of gain of school mean scores from spring to fall. although no data for tests of significance were available, the estimates of the interaction variance were sufficiently small to indicate that the test publisher is justified in presenting the results from a relatively small sample of schools as appropriate spring and fall norms for the population for which the test is designed.
