Abstract

This paper was read as part of a symposium at the September 1957 meetings of the American Statistical Association. The author restricts discussion to mental test theory, a small but active area within psychometric theory. A theoretical structure is outlined suggesting some moderately distinctive characteristics and for dealing with problems arising from errors of measurement.
