Abstract

A single college selecting students from schools using a single predictor variable, denoted x (with appropriate suffixes), was considered. The methods developed to deal with the case of more than one predictor variable in previous papers are extended. Difficulties concerning an assumption of independence of the regression slopes and ordinates were investigated. Another way of overcoming these problems is presented. An appendix contains "a note on the computation of the posterior distribution." (SGK)
