The GRE® Subject Tests

Stand out from other applicants

Select a step to learn more about your GRE® Subject Test journey.

Sending Your GRE Subject Test Scores

As part of your registration, you can designate up to four graduate institutions or fellowship sponsors to receive your scores as part of your test fee. See a list of institutions and fellowship sponsors approved to receive GRE scores.

If you wish to send your GRE Subject Test scores to additional institutions or you decide to send scores after test day, you can order Additional Score Reports (ASRs) for a fee. And with the ScoreSelect® option, you can send scores from Most Recent, All or Any specific test administration of the GRE General Test and/or Subject Tests.

You can order ASRs online in your ETS account for a fee of US$35 per score recipient at any time during the 5-year period that your scores are valid.

Once a request is submitted, it can’t be canceled, changed or refunded.

It takes approximately 5 business days to process requests to send GRE scores if you submit your request online and 10 days if you submit it by mail or fax. If the date at which your scores are no longer reportable is approaching, make sure you allow enough time for processing or your scores may not be sent.

Name or Address Changes

If your name or mailing address has changed since you took the test, contact GRE Services for assistance. Name changes or changes to your mailing address can’t be processed through this service.

With the ScoreSelect option, you decide which test scores to send to the institutions you designate, so you can send the scores you feel show your personal best, giving you more confidence on test day.

Before test day, during registration, you can choose not to send your scores at this time OR you can select either option below for each of your four FREE score reports:

  • Most Recent — Send your scores from your current test administration.
  • All — Send your scores from all GRE Subject Test administrations in the last 5 years.

After test day, you can send score reports for a fee and select from these options for each report you'd like to send:

  • Most Recent — Send your scores from your most recent test administration.
  • All — Send your scores from all test administrations in the last 5 years.
  • Any — Send your scores from one OR as many test administrations as you like from the last 5 years.

Some programs require applicants who have taken a GRE test more than once to report the scores from all their GRE test administrations. We recommend verifying the GRE score reporting requirements with the programs to which you’re applying.
